(WASHINGTON, D.C) –
Chairman Daniel K. Akaka (D-Hawaii) has announced that the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs will hold its organizational meeting Wednesday, February 16 at 11:30 a.m., in Room 628 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
The session will be the committee’s first meeting of the 112th Congress. The first order of business will be Senator Akaka’s formal selection as the panel’s Chairman, followed by a vote to formally recognize Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyoming) as the committee’s Vice Chair.
The other major items of business will include consideration and adoption of the committee’s rules and its funding allocation for committee operations during the 112th Congress.
