Senate Indian Affairs Committee to Consider Three Bills at Thursday Session

WASHINGTON D.C. –
The U.S. Senate Indian Affairs Committee will consider three bills at a legislative hearing on Thursday, April 29, at 2:15 PM, Thursday, April 29. The session will take place in Room 628 Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, DC. The three bills, and a brief description, are listed below:
S. 439: The Indian Development Finance Corporation Act — Promotes economic development by Indian tribes, by providing necessary capital, financial services, and technical assistance.
 
S. 2802: The Blackfoot River Land Settlement Act — Settles land claims within the Fort Hall Reservation.
 
S. 1264: The Pine River Indian Irrigation Project Act – requires the Secretary of Interior to assess irrigation infrastructure of the Pine River Indian Irrigation Project in Colorado, and to provide grants to, and enter into cooperative agreements with the Southern Ute Indian Tribe to assess, repair, rehabilitate or reconstruct existing infrastructure.
